Aksi Jahit Mulut Masih Bertahan

TEMPO Interaktif, Jakarta:Mahasiswa yang beraksi menjahit mulut dan mogok makan di depan pintu masuk kampus Universitas Kristen Indonesia Salemba masih bertahan. Aksi untuk menuntut pembatalan kenaikan harga Bahan Bakar Minyak itu sudah dilakukan tiga hari ini.
Kedua mahasiswa yakni Sondang Hutagalung dan Targot, ketika didatangi Tempo, Selasa (10/6) tampak merebahkan badan sambil menonton siaran berita televisi. Ditemani Humas FORKOT, Nando Sidobutar dan beberapa mahasiswa yang sengaja datang untuk memberikan semangat, mereka membincangkan berita itu.
Nando menjelaskan bahwa aksi ini akan bertahan sampai tuntutan turunnya harga BBM dikabulkan. Choriyati Ispratiwi

I don't know the reason but i think what these guys are doing is totally fooling themselves. It sounds stupid for me when we're dealing with the same old thing when no one's noticing it anymore. Well the attention now is not as big as it was, right?
It is true that the government's decision of increasing the fuel price is horribly unacceptable. I also agree that it is a bad choice and also a bad decision for a government that can possibly make more suffer to people. It will be followed by the increasing of other stuff's prices.
But hey wake up. There are lotta more issues to be concerning about. It's so useless for you guys to sew your own lip. beside it hurts you a lot, it's not going to be noticed by our government.
Let me tell you my idea of doing useless thing.
The government had posted an issue that state budget retrenchment program has been decided in the 2008 amended state budget. Besides it's been approved by our People's Representative Council. So in my opinion, it won't change even if you threat the government to commit mass suicide. It is not that easy, seemed to be impossible, to make the People's Representative Council revoked the state budget.
Let us say, it is possible. You have to create bigger action that involves greater number of people in such action. It will only be humiliating -- in my opinion-- if you do that with only a friend of you. It's not going to gain any public attention.
So why don't you just concentrating yourself in your school thingy rather than doing useless thing. You can finish your school first, then be SOMEONE and do a big action about it.
It's better than do it this way. Am i right?
